National self-reliance and sovereignty will be lost. The country would become dependant on imports and these would be available at very high prices. 'Health for all by 2000AD' - was the motto of the Indian government. (AIR 1987 SC 990 ) can be cited here:

We commend to the government that the drug policy of the government should emphasize upon a time-bound switch over to indigenous production. (AIR 1995 SC 922)

The health and strength of the worker is an integral facet of right of life. Denial thereof denudes the workman the finer facets of life violating Art. 21.
Research will be stifled and blocked over large areas.
No new products would be introduced by Indian companies.
