reality of it all. The singers wore regular clothes with only capes from some ancient century to place the opera in a different time which was not
meant to be modern. There was the full cast of characters with an added ensemble to assist and I assume replace the orchestra. The ensemble sang with certain characters during the public scenes, like Masetto's and Zerlina's wedding. I was great impressed with Leporello for he had a great bass voice which dominated the tiny room with extreme clarity. Unfortunately at times, he seemed to overpower Don Giovanni who had a nice voice, but it wasn't as strong. The role of the piano (instruments) was almost non existent except to announce the coming of a great aria or important recitative.

The harmony and coherence of the performance was completely carried by the singers and their acting skills. Even though the opera was still performed in Italian, like the recording I listened to before hand, I found myself unaware of the language barrier. I saw Don Giovanni trying to seduce Donna Anna and I saw him kill Il Commendatore. Their singing was episodic, rising and falling with the emotions that we were to feel. It was suspenseful and funny. Leporello bounced his voice as much
