tries to seduce Donna Anna one evening by disguising himself as her betrothed lover, Don Ottavio, and at the screams of his daughter, Il Commendatore rushes out after Don Giovanni where the old man meets his death in a duel. Donna Elvira is one of Don Giovanni's estranged lovers who is always looking for Don Giovanni. Zerlina is a peasant girl, another one of Don Giovanni's victims, who marries Masetto.

This recorded version seems to be a typical interpretation of Mozart's piece, complete musically, the full opera, and judging by the cover of the CD case, was performed in full costume true to the time of seventeenth century Spain where the original play was written. Stylistically, there are no changes in the arias or recitatives, all being as identifiable as taught through study in class. The duel scene between Don Giovanni and Il Commendatore builds up with racing violins and when the statue from the grave of Il Commendatore comes to send Don Giovanni to hell, the incredibly bass voice of the statue sends shivers throughout one's imagination. The arias and recitatives of Donna Elvira and Donna Anna are serene and somewhat heavy. In Act II, scene VII (there are two Acts in total of the opera), there is a sextet with Donna Elvira, Leporello, Don Ottavio, Donna Anna, Zerlina, and
